She is married to a Lawyer–

Children – one daughter married- they have one son; One son married – they have a daughter and a son. So now Anthea is a seventy one year old grandmother with three grandchildren, who never finds life boring as she keeps herself busy with many hobbies and interests.

Obtained Diploma in English Literature in 2000 – University of London (External Programme).  This proved to be a turning point in her writing skills and she tried her hand at writing short stories and poetry which she still does. Non fiction – articles for journals and newspapers.  Also Editor of Quarterly Bulletin for the Cathedral of Christ the Living Saviour Colombo and Chairperson of editorial board of Rotary Club of Colombo North Quarterly journal. Wrote travel articles for the Lanka Monthly Digest magazine when it first began in 1994 continued until 2004 also contributed stories to Lanka Woman in its early days.

Anthea loves painting- mostly oils but also does water colours and acrylics.

Reading-  Right throughout her schooldays she would make it a point to read something every day – still tries to do this!

Loves travelling and experiencing  new places/cultures, going to the theatre (drama/ballet/singing/ music), listening to music/singing.

Loves gardening, sewing –used to do a lot of  quilting. Loves cooking.  Loves animals/birds/plants.

Now she loves writing too!

She has been interviewed by newspaper journalists from time to time. Can’t remember exact dates!

Anthea joined the Wadiya Group of Writers in the late 1990s and has been an active member of both the EWC and Wadiya.  She is also a member of the Women’s Auxiliary Group of the YMCA Colombo, Rotary Club of Colombo North and the Animal Welfare and Protection Association of Sri Lanka.
